Etta James – Gastric Sleeve Surgery
The late Etta James got gastric sleeve surgery back in 2001, a year before she died. At the time, she managed to lose about 200 pounds after suffering from being overweight in her last years. She even had to use a wheelchair to perform because she weighed 400 pounds. James realized that her weight was causing the gradual downfall of her illustrious career.
Since it was affecting her career, she decided to lose those extra pounds. She even consulted her friend, Roseanne Barr, before she went under the knife. The procedure didn’t go well and made her stomach too small that it created problems in keeping the food level down. The late singer might have used her insurance to handle those health issues when she was still alive.
